There is nothing more beautiful than a new marble shine, where your flooring looks the best when it’s smooth and glossy. Read our quick DIY guide on how to keep your floor in mint condition and keep your marble floors sparkling and shiny!

  1. Cleaning Your Marble

Firstly, you need to make sure your marble floor is thoroughly cleaned. Start by using a soft dry rag or vacuuming your marble floor to rid it off crumbs and dirt. Next, wet your floor with a damp sponge and apply a commercial marble cleaner or nonabrasive dishwashing liquid onto your rag and start polishing! It is important not to use vinegar, bleach, scrubs or any harsh chemicals to clean your marble floor.

  1. Removing Stains

You can use a commercial marble stain remover to remove stains on your marble floor. You may also make your own by mixing a tablespoon of ammonia and half a cup of hydrogen peroxide, before adding in some baking soda till it reaches a creamy consistency. Next, use a clean paintbrush to spread it onto the stain areas. Leave it for 12-24 hours before scraping it away carefully.

  1. Polishing

Using a clean cloth with water, wipe away at etched areas. Sprinkle some marble polishing powder and gently buff according to your product’s instructions. Remove any residue with your cloth and wipe your marble dry to reveal its newly restored shine!
